This study sought to investigate the effects of implementing transformative learning theory on the conceptual growth, learning engagement, and critical thinking of physics students in secondary school. The sample consisted of 62 first-year high school students, divided into two groups: 30 students in the experimental group and 32 in the control group. To achieve the objectives of the study, the Conceptual Change Test (CCT), Critical Thinking Test (CTT), and Engagement in Learning Scale (ELS) were created. The results demonstrated how transformative learning theories influence conceptual transformation, learning engagement, and the growth of critical thinking in physics. the study recommended using of transformative learning theory in the context of physics learning and conducting more studies on the transformative learning theory and its effects on deep understanding, building self-interpretations, and reflective thinking in physics.Referências
