The editorial examines the reasons why many articles are rejected by the journal Investigações em Ensino de Ciências (IENCI), emphasizing the need for well-defined criteria for manuscript acceptance. It highlights the significant growth of the Science Education field in both quantity and quality, making the article review process increasingly complex. The text critiques extreme views on objectivity and subjectivity in scientific evaluation and underscores the importance of judgment based on a shared practical sense. It outlines key elements of a research article, including problem formulation, research question, literature review, theoretical framework, methodology, analysis, and discussion of results. Additionally, it distinguishes research articles from experience reports, which do not fall within the journal’s scope. The editorial aims to guide authors and improve the editorial workflow, ultimately contributing to the quality of scientific production in the field.References
