Abstract

In this space, we propose an analysis of discourses on old age in research and publications on Science Education, considering the field of formalized “teaching” in Brazil. To this end, we carried out a bibliographic search in the Capes theses/dissertation repository and in specialized journals. We were inspired by the theories of philosopher Michel Foucault to demarcate the historical differences in the constitution of objects and subjects of knowledge in which old age emerges as an “event”. Thus, we discuss the implications of the categories “old age”, “elderly” and “third age”, the theoretical-methodological choices of the studies and the articulation between the area of teaching and the field of health.

    Professora da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Pós-doutora em Filosofia pela Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Doutora e Mestre em Educação em Ciências na UFRGS, onde desenvolve pesquisas em Educação, particularmente evidenciando as temáticas da Constituição dos Sujeitos no Currículo, das Práticas Docentes, da Legitimação dos Saberes e da Filosofia da Diferença.Coordenadora da Área de Educação em Química (AEQ) e do Núcleo de Estudos sobre Currículo e Subjetividades - NECS (UFRGS), vinculadas ao Diretórios de Grupos do CNPq, participante como pesquisadora dos grupos ENEMAT, AEQUINS, LIJ e Praktiké.
