STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education and Maker Culture have gained prominence in contemporary education for promoting active, interdisciplinary, and problem-solving-oriented learning. In this context, this study investigates the conceptual, epistemological, and methodological foundations that underpin the articulation between STEAM-Maker approaches and to what extent these elements allow for the conception of a theoretical integration model applicable to the context of Brazilian basic education. To this end, a theoretical model of collaborative integration between these approaches is proposed, based on an integrated perspective of STEAM education, supported by constructionist, sociocultural, and epistemological frameworks. The study is structured according to Larry Laudan's reticular model and is organized into three interdependent levels: the axiological level, oriented towards the development of learning objectives; the theoretical level, consisting of epistemological, psychological, didactic, and sociocultural foundations; and the methodological level, centered on the use of active methodologies. The model is exemplified through a proposed high school curriculum, highlighting its pedagogical potential. We conclude that the model contributes to science education by integrating STEAM-Maker approaches in a collaborative and epistemologically grounded manner, offering theoretical support and practical guidance for its implementation in educational contexts.References
