Abstract

The aim of this paper is to contribute to the theoretical foundation in science teaching research. Some cognitive theories related to the computational approach and the mental representations they propose to explain the cognitive processes are analyzed. Links between cognitive psychology and constructivism are discussed and implications for research are carried out.
