The link between conceptual and epistemological aspects in the learning of classical physics
Keywords:

In this paper we report research findings of a M.Sc. dissertation (Guridi, 1999) carried out aiming at a better understanding of the learning process in physics, at high school level, and at getting criteria to guide more efficient teaching practices. The study was centered on the study of the relationship between the conceptual understanding of Newtonian mechanics and the epistemological conception of classical physics among high school physics students. In a brief synthesis we present the research problem, the theoretical and methodological framework, the qualitative and quantitative research techniques used, the research findings, conclusions, suggestions, and perspectives identified in the study.Downloads
