Resumo

A inserção da História da Ciência em contextos de ensino tem sido um tópico frequentemente contemplado na literatura da área de Educação em Ciências. Isto se justifica em função do potencial de narrativas históricas para favorecer discussões de natureza epistemológica, as quais podem contribuir para uma visão crítica do empreendimento científico. Para que tais discussões sejam acessíveis aos estudantes, faz-se necessário considerar quão bem preparados estão professores de Ciências para elaborar aulas baseadas em casos históricos. Entretanto, pesquisas mostram que grande parte dos professores tem dificuldades na elaboração e implementação de abordagens históricas que se devem, muitas vezes, às visões que eles possuem sobre Ciências. No presente estudo, investigamos como licenciandos em Química podem mobilizar conhecimentos de Natureza da Ciência para elaborar uma aula relacionada à História da Ciência. A motivação para conduzir este estudo emergiu da hipótese de que conhecimentos de Natureza da Ciência podem auxiliar na superação de dificuldades que professores possuem para inserir casos históricos no ensino. A partir da elaboração de um estudo de casos múltiplos, foi possível identificar a relação entre os conhecimentos de Natureza da Ciência e: (i) a escolha de quais elementos presentes em casos históricos devem ser abordados em uma aula; (ii) a interpretação de como esses elementos podem ser pertinentes para favorecer reflexões sobre Natureza da Ciência; (iii) a interpretação acerca do modo como a História da Ciência é apresentada em livros didáticos; (iv) a identificação de estratégias instrucionais específicas para uma dada aula; e (v) a avaliação dessas estratégias em termos de seu potencial para favorecer reflexões sobre Natureza da Ciência. A partir destes resultados, discutimos a relevância do entendimento sobre Natureza da Ciência para nortear práticas docentes relacionadas ao ensino de História da Ciência e suas implicações em termos de futuras pesquisas relacionadas aos conhecimentos de professores de Ciências.
