The incorporation of Computer Science into basic education has become a curricular and pedagogical challenge, especially in the field of Science Education. In the Brazilian context, the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) for Computer Science in High School explicitly outlines competencies and skills that encompass technical, investigative, ethical, and collaborative dimensions, requiring interpretive readings that go beyond an instrumental understanding of technology. This study aims to interpret the BNCC Computer Science in light of Science Education, analyzing its competencies, skills, explanations, and pedagogical examples, in order to highlight formative axes and possibilities for articulation between Computer Science and the investigative, critical, and collaborative practices of science education. This is a qualitative, documentary research study, whose corpus consists exclusively of the official text of the BNCC Computer Science for High School. The analysis was carried out using Discursive Textual Analysis, following the stages of unitization, categorization, and production of the interpretive metatext. The results reveal four central axes: Computing as a tool for problem-solving and scientific research; Digital security, ethics, and information reliability; Digital skills for management, research, and communication; and Professional and collaborative practices in digital projects. It is concluded that the BNCC (Brazilian National Curriculum Base) Computing presents formative potential to redefine Science Education, by positioning Computing as a mediator of investigative, critical, and collaborative practices in science education.References
