Identification of school's role in sexual education of youngsters

Abstract

The work we are presenting gives particular emphasis to the identification of the school success in the sexuality of young people who are about to leave high school. The main objective of this study is: a) to identify the basic knowledge that students have at the end of twelve yeares at school about the morphophysiology of the feminine and masculine reproductive organs, about contraceptives and about deseases of sexual trasmission (DTS). The smple of study was formed by 571 students who were in the 12th Form. To gather enough data we used a questionnaire. The students of the sample of study demononstrated little knowledge about sexual education. We can conclude that school has played a role of little importance as agent of sexual education for these young people of the sample.
