Abstract

In the article we intend to start a debate about such an important question since we are all part of the scientific community that prepares and evaluates projects. That is, we intend to show that the criteria commonly used for evaluating a research work are not necessarily the most important to judge a research project and its perspectives. Consequently we will try to search clues that may indicate the presence of good argument and an adequate procedure in research projects, which may anticipate good chances of success. We focus on points that we consider fundamental in a research, and discuss difficulties that may arise based both on a traditional methodological and a more modern framework. We conclude with an outline of general characteristics for a research project, which we consider reliable, and weave some recommendations for referees/advisors.
