In this article we present the results of an investigation that elaborated, through the evidence presented in the texts by Flavell, Brown et al. and in interviews with high school students, an instrument of analysis that allow to outline metacognitive profiles. The instrument is made up of fifteen categories that emerged from the procedures of Discursive Textual Analysis. The categories are the following: specificity of knowledge; associative; contextual; stratagem; verification; cognitive process; memorization; school experiments; sense of understanding; interest; comfortable emotions; uncomfortable emotions; comparison with the other; need of the other; relationship with the world. The instrument is used, in a second article complementary to this one, to interpret the reports of seven high school students and outline the metacognitive profile of each one of them.References
