A review about the use of concept maps as learning and evaluation strategy

In this paper we present a review of national and international journals and from annals of the I, II and III International Conference on Concept Mapping, until 2010, on the use of concept mapping in formal education. It is discussed, at the light of the Meaningful Learning Theory and the Conceptual Fields Theory, papers concerning concept maps specifically as didactical and evaluation strategy, cause these were the perspectives used in the cited study. The theoretical frameworks and results from the researched papers are pointed and compared. In the final remarks we present a synthesis with suggestions on the use of the concept maps, also taking account of the authors’ experiences.Downloads
