Abstract

This article presents an analysis of semi-structured interviews with teachers and students from a biological sciences degree course at a public university in northern Paraná. The analysis was focused on investigations into the current axiological systems and possible interferences from these in the process of initial training of biology teachers, from the perspective of both the student teachers and the trainers. After a theoretical survey of the literature which addresses axiology focused on education, the foci of the teaching learning were used (FAD) which, when adapted (FAD’), acted as categorical axes or expected general values for ‘good teacher training’. The analysis of the evaluative flow of the interviews, from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective, demonstrated the existence of a pattern of values between the teachers and learners, suggesting, among other things, that values can function as indicators of teacher training and that the axiological systems of the trainers may change the relationship between students and knowledge, implying the establishment of particular professional profiles.
